Welcome to Winston Area Community Partnership!
We are so glad you’re taking this opportunity to learn about our organization and our community!
We hope you will find this website helpful in presenting and defining some of the activities this organization is involved in and that you feel inspired to join us in making Winston an even better place to live.
Winston Area Community Partnership (WACP) came into being in 1999 when a group of concerned citizens felt it was time to “wake up” and address some issues that were leading to a low feeling of attachment by those living within the community. This organization started quite simply with the convening of “sharing” monthly meetings. Those meetings continue still– every second Friday of the month.
WACP’s vision is for positive, harmonious actions in a drug-free environment as evidenced by expanded community facilities and programs, beautification, cultural and economic development efforts, which are brought about by effective planning and teamwork.
Winston is a wonderful community to be part of, whether you live here, work here, or just choose to recreate here. Hundreds of volunteers give their time and energy to projects and programs in Winston– it’s really these people that are the heart of the community. To quote one fine Winston octogenarian volunteer, “Volunteers Build Community Unity.” Come join us!
